SMILES PROGRAM RULES – ATTACHMENT II

 

SMILES AWARD CHART

 

 

 

1. The chart above is applicable only when trips involve the Smiles program Partner Airlines.  Partner airline and VRG Linhas Aéreas flights may be combined on a single One Way Smiles ticket, regardless of  how many companies are used between origin and destination, as long as issuance rules in these Terms are respected. If there is no applicable rule for combined ticket issuance, another award shall be calculated.

 

2. The destination table shown above includes countries that are considered to belong to the award zone defined by the Smiles Program. However, the possibility of issuing a Smiles One Way Ticket to a specific country should be checked with the Smiles Customer Service Center.

 

3. One Way Smiles tickets for Partner Airlines issuance involving different class parameters from the One Way Awards chart will be charged according to the highest value in miles.

 

4. One Way Smiles tickets for Partner Airlines are only one way, and may have 2 (two) routes when a stopover² is involved.

 

5. The One Way Smiles tickets for Partner Airlines Chart is applicable to all flights operated by these airlines, except for code share or Charter flights.

 

6. There are no blackout periods for Smiles One Way Tickets with Partner Airlines on Smiles Partner Airline flights, although they may be modified, suspended or introduced at the criteria of these companies without prior notice.

 

7. (one) stopover¹ will be allowed within the destination region, as long as it is not a purely domestic flight within any country or when the trip involves only countries in Europe.  No more than 2 (two) connections will be permitted on the same trip.

 

8. It is not permitted to route the same city more than once (even if different airports are involved) in one direction of the itinerary (side trip).  A separate ticket shall be issued for the side trip.

 

9. Backtracking is not permitted.  Connection points must be on direct routes.

 

10. A maximum of 3 (three) connections will be permitted.

 

11. Date change our rerouting for trips with the same award value
When a physical ticket is involved no changes will be permitted.  In case of an unused electronic ticket, date change and/or rerouting will be permitted up to 6 (six) hours before the flight, through the Smiles Service Center by the solicitant Smiles member, who must be positively identified through electronic validation of Smiles card number and password and have a confirmed reservation in the specified class and provide payment of the current  administrative fee.  The validity of the updated One way Smiles ticket with the new date and/or itinerary will be the same as the original ticket. Information on administrative fees and date change or rerouting may be gathered from the Smiles Service Center.

 

12.1. Date change or rerouting for trips with different award parameters, with greater or lesser values in miles: When a physical ticket is involved no changes will be permitted.  In case of an unused electronic ticket within its validity period, changes will be permitted and Smiles member shall request a refund through the Smiles Service Center and issuance of a new ticket with the updated award value.

 

13. Reimbursement
Permitted for tickets that have not been used and are within their validity period, through the Smiles Customer Service Center, with the positive identification of the Member for electronic validation of the Smiles number and password, and with payment of the administrative fee in effect at the time. Only valid miles shall be returned to the Member's account. Information on the validity of miles and the administrative fee for reimbursement can be obtained from the Smiles Customer Service Center.

 

14. The One Way awards chart is divided by regions ( awards are calculated according to zones, between origin and destination).

 

Stopover¹: when there is an intermediary stop between origin and destination flights.

 

 

 

 

 

1. The above table shall only be applicable when the trip involves Smiles Program Partner Airlines. Partner Airline flights may only be combined with VRG Linhas Aéreas flights on the same Smiles Round Trip Ticket. If it is necessary to combine more than one partner airline for the trip, tickets must be issued separately, respecting the rules for such issuance specified in this Regulation.

 

2. The destination table shown above includes countries that are considered to belong to the award zone defined by the Smiles Program. However, the possibility of issuing a Smiles Round Trip Ticket to a specific country should be checked with the Smiles Customer Service Center.

 

3. Round Trip Smiles tickets for Partner Airlines issuance involving different class parameters from the Round Trip Awards chart (zones and classes), will be charged according to the highest value in miles.

 

4. Round Trip Smiles tickets for Partner Airlines must be issued with up to 4 (four) routes, and may be to and from destination or any type of Open Jaw¹ (Single or Double). Tickets with 4 (four) routes may be issued only when a stopover² is applicable.

 

5. The Round Trip Smiles tickets for Partner Airlines Chart is applicable to all flights operated by these airlines, except for code share or Charter flights.

 

6. There is no embargo period for Round Trip Smiles Tickets for Partner Airlines on partner airline flights, and tickets may be modified, suspended or introduced as per the company's discretion without notice.

 

7. Up to 2 (two) stopovers¹ will be allowed within the destination region: one to destination and one from destination, as long as it is not a purely domestic flight within any country or when the trip involves only countries in Europe.

 

8. It is not permitted to route the same city more than once (even if different airports are involved) in one direction of the itinerary (side trip).  A separate ticket shall be issued for the side trip.

Information on administrative fees and date change or rerouting may be gathered from the Smiles Service Center.

 

12.1 Date change or rerouting for trips with different award parameters, with greater or lesser values in miles:
When a physical ticket is involved no changes will be permitted.  In case of an unused electronic ticket within its validity period, changes will be permitted and Smiles member shall request a refund (see item 12) through the Smiles Service Center and issuance of a new award through the Smiles website or in person at a VRG Linhas Aéreas store operated by GOL or VARIG (see items 6.4.1 and 6.4.2).

 

13. Reimbursement:
Permitted for tickets that have not been used and are within their validity period, through the Smiles Customer Service Center, with the positive identification of the Member for electronic validation of the Smiles number and password, and with payment of the administrative fee in effect at the time. Only valid miles shall be returned to the Member's account. Information on the validity of miles and the administrative fee for reimbursement can be obtained from the Smiles Customer Service Center.

 

14. The Round Trip awards chart is divided by regions (awards are calculated according to zones, between origin and destination).

 

Open Jaw¹: a trip in which the traveler returns from a city other than the one he or she arrived.

 

Open Jaw tickets can be:
Single – when trip starts from city A to city B and returns from city C to city A, in other words, the final destination is the same as the origin.
Double – when trip starts from city A to city B and returns from city C to city D, in other words, the final destination is also different from the origin.

 

Stopover¹: when there is an intermediary stop between origin and destination flights.

 

The Smiles Program Rules are effective as of November 10th 2009 (included) as a VRG Linhas Aéreas product and replaces the previous rules.
